SMYRNA, TN – September 17, 2025

SRM Concrete has announced the opening of its newest ready-mix plant in Avon Park, Florida.

“We’re excited to begin serving our Avon Park customers, and we’re looking forward to batching concrete from this new site,” stated CEO Jeff Hollingshead. “Our Bartow team has worked hard to serve Highlands County, but with this plant, we can now offer more direct, reliable service while continuing to deliver the quality our customers expect.”

This expansion represents SRM’s fifth plant in South-Central Florida, with existing locations in Haines City, Lakeland, Mulberry, and Bartow. The new dry-batch plant can produce approximately 120 cubic yards of concrete per hour.

SRM Concrete entered the region through the acquisition of Bartow-based KMR Concrete in 2018. Since then, the Tennessee-based business has steadily grown in the area through the acquisition of existing ready-mix plants nearby and by establishing new sites like this one.

With over 8,500 team members, SRM Concrete is the largest ready-mix concrete manufacturer in the country. Established in 1999 by Mike and Melissa Hollingshead in Smyrna, Tennessee, the family-owned company owns and operates an expansive network of ready-mix concrete plants, quarries, cement terminals, and other ancillary services across 23 states. SRM Concrete focuses on producing and providing building material services across the commercial and residential construction segments.
