About the Position

SRM Concrete is seeking a Paralegal to join our team in Middle Tennessee.  The successful candidate will support SRM Concrete’s Legal Department by performing such duties as: establishing, managing, and organizing files through our case management software; monitoring calendars; reviewing and drafting agreements; facilitating business transactions; and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

This is a full-time position based out of our SRM Home Office located in Murfreesboro, TN.

Established in 1999 in Smyrna, Tennessee, the family-owned company owns and operates an expansive network of ready-mix concrete plants, quarries, cement terminals, and other ancillary services. SRM Concrete focuses on producing and providing building material services across the commercial and residential construction segments.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Assist the Legal Department in managing internal legal matters and coordinating and communicating with outside counsel
  • Managing and organizing paper files and electronic files using our case management software
  • Complete investigations and fact findings
  • Legal research
  • Assist in preparing legal documents
  • Review and maintain all agreements entered into by the company
  • Maintain and monitor attorney calendars
  • Provide general administrative support
  • Successfully complete special projects and other duties as requested


Required Skills/Abilities

  • General familiarity with workers’ compensation matters
  • General familiarity with labor laws
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of contacts including outside attorneys, senior management, and business associates
  • Proven ability to work effectively in independent settings
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Anticipate support needs across a variety of legal matters
  • Ability to quickly and efficiently solve problems as they arise.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Familiarity with case management software

Education and Experience

  • Law degree preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or a paralegal certificate from an ABA approved paralegal program
